You might have seen The Palms before. They’re three artificial archipelagoes off the coast of Dubai, UAE being created to increase the amount of waterfront property. Here’s one:

Apparently those weren’t enough, because now they’re building The World (official site):

The ultra-rich can now purchase their own mini-nation island. Bush must be drooling at the chance to drop mini-bombs on Syria/Linda Pritzker’s beach house.

    I just noticed that they have the Republic of Seychelles, but they don’t have Israel. I’m curious if they’ll let Jews buy Egypt.
