Demon Beans

Here’s a Gallery of Demonic Tots and Deeply Disturbing Cuisine. Mid-century marketing at its best. This kid will eat pork and beans straight from a can. After that you can expect him hide under your bed waiting for you to stand up so he can cut your Achille’s tendons, Pet Cemetary style.

Check out how the drip falling from the spoon is portrayed as a glistening jewel to be savored (larger and clearer image). On another one, there’s a great slogan, “Meat… You’re right in liking it.”

    “Peas in potato boats” made me lose my appetite. I don’t think I’ll ever ingest food again.

    Odd – I like peas, and I like potatoes. But together, no likey.

    I think there is an instinct that most people have to avoid gray food. The sauce for the peas is the color of haggis/rotting corpse.

    I had to surpress this feeling a few weeks ago when I purchased some Black Sesame Pocky. It’s like regular Pocky, but instead of being dipped in chocolate, it looks like it was dipped in a jizzy ashtray.

    OK, I never thought I would be revolted by Pocky. But that did it.
    Did it also come in “Men’s Pocky” size? Or coated in durian?

    Contrary to intuition, Men’s Pocky isn’t a size… it’s a flavor. I’m pretty sure the difference is that the chocolate is dark. Dark chocolate must offend some deeply-held sensibility that is found Japanese females and female-identifying transgendered.
