Stop the madness

Nancy Reagan

Here’s the music video from 1985 that was sponsored by Nancy Reagan’s anti-drug campaign. Some notable participants: New Edition, Toni Basil, David Hasselhoff, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tootie from the Facts of Life, Boogaloo Shrimp (aka Turbo) from Breakin’, and for a delicious bit of retro-irony… Whitney Houston.

Mr. Pibb + Red Vines = Crazy Delicious

Lazy Sunday

I know this is old, but I saw it again, and it made me laugh.

YouTube had it for a while, but the NBC lawyers put the kibosh down on it. Eventually, they posted it themselves (as in the link above). SNL has been flagging for a while now. Much of the current shit is unwatchable. That’s why the preferred method of finding humor in SNL is to wait for the good skits to show up on viral video sites. No more wading.

You’d breast come out of the closet

Gay men and straight women are finally publicly recognizing what I’ve known since the age of 12… Tits are awesome!

From the Village Voice article (kinda NSFW):

Ogling breasts isn’t just for straight men and lesbians anymore. Moving beyond traditional labels, gay men and straight women are outing themselves as “boobiesexuals.”

OK, the term is silly, but who knows… maybe this summer we’ll be seeing a Hooters in P-town.

Gothlings all grown up

Goth Chick

The Guardian Unlimited has an article on what goths do when they grow up. The writer’s take is that there is life after working Cinnabon and LARPing as spinal fluid-drinking “alternative” vampires.

Best line:

“I see them now in Camden where I live and think ‘Fine in your twenties. But when you’re 30? Sorry – you look like a twat”
