Children’s book of a different sort

Here’s a site that has scans of a German children’s book on reproduction. Might not be safe for work. Of note, there is a goatse-like birth.

Team Fortress 2 trailer
The original Team Fortress was released in 1996. Until Counter-Strike came out, it was the best online multiplayer PC shooter. Fans have been clamoring for a sequel for a decade, and it looks like it will be bundled with Half-Life 2: Episode 2 in Q1 2007. The art direction is interesting. They clearly went for goofier, more Pixar-like characters. Can’t wait ot play it.

Engadget has a post about this device called the Babykeeper. You hang this baby seat on the inside of a bathroom stall door. That way you can watch your baby, and it can watch you dropping a deezer.

Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (trailer)
I love Borat, but this looks a bit scripted. The genius of the character is that when he interviews people, they let their guard down and say things that otherwise they would never say on camera. I’ll still see it.

Tenacious D in ‘The Pick of Destiny’ (trailer)
The Tenacious D show was funny, but does it scale? And has Jack Black jumped the shark?

The Wicker Man (trailer)
The original Wicker Man with Christopher Lee was excellent, and it still holds up. It’s one of my favorite horror films, and my favorite kind… lots of suspense with a powerful ending. The remake stars Nicholas Cage, and instead of taking place on a remote island in the Scottish Hebrides, it’s set in Washington state. Really? When I think of ancient druidic cults, Spokane does not come to mind. And another thing, IMDB has the remake as being rated PG-13 for “disturbing images and violence, language and thematic issues.” Sounds like they’re passing on the dancing nubile pagans with their naked jubblies all aflutter. Big mistake, five demerits.

Article from 1up:
Microsoft continues pushing forward with their Xbox Live Arcade releases, and while the world scrambles to download their free copies of Texas Hold ‘Em before they have to fork over real-world cash, Microsoft’s already planning some more interesting releases that aren’t HD-filtered versions of old school classics.
In a press release covering the Leipzig Games Convention, Microsoft revealed that European board games Settlers of Catan, Carcassonne and Alhambra would all be appearing on Xbox Live. There’s no word on pricing or release dates, but chance are they’ll show up before the end of the year.
