As part of the American Mosaic Project, the U of Minnesota did a study on how atheists are perceived in the US:
American’s increasing acceptance of religious diversity doesn’t extend to those who don’t believe in a god, according to a national survey by researchers in the University of Minnesota’s department of sociology.
From a telephone sampling of more than 2,000 households, university researchers found that Americans rate atheists below Muslims, recent immigrants, gays and lesbians and other minority groups in “sharing their vision of American society.†Atheists are also the minority group most Americans are least willing to allow their children to marry.

A gallery of sculptures made from stacked cans.
Hmm… While the gallery is interesting, if I came upon a blog post that featured the words “cans” and “stacked”, I would be sorely disappointed by this.

For those who haven’t seen it before, Heat Vision and Jack has been posted to YouTube.
From their description:
The 30 minute pilot is about an astronaut (played by Jack Black) with a medical secret who is on the run from the evil Ron Silver and the rest of NASA, with the help of a talking motorcycle called Heat Vision (voiced by Owen Wilson).

Gay men and straight women are finally publicly recognizing what I’ve known since the age of 12… Tits are awesome!
From the Village Voice article (kinda NSFW):
Ogling breasts isn’t just for straight men and lesbians anymore. Moving beyond traditional labels, gay men and straight women are outing themselves as “boobiesexuals.”
OK, the term is silly, but who knows… maybe this summer we’ll be seeing a Hooters in P-town.

On some artist’s blog there was an illustration contest calling for reinterpretations of Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids. Above is the winner. The rest are on his blog.
